Phainons Identity (?) A theory and horribly yap session.

3.0 SPOILERS!
Hear me out. We all know Phainon is being VERY blatantly pushed into the notion of bearing Kephale's coreflame, the one of Worldbearing. But don't we think it's almost a little too obvious? There's probably going to be some sort of twist to it. And I think that Phainons connection to Kephale runs deeper than it seems.
What happened in a specific section of the 3.0 main story adds to my suspicion. The trailblazer goes back in time to Castrum Kremnos alongside Castorice, meeting a warrior unlike the rest named "Lord Gnaeus". In the end, he turned out to be a piece of Nikador, the Strife titan. Before the black tide had consumed them entirely, they'd split up fragments of themselves. Such as honour, courage, sacrfice, tenacity - and the Nikador we had met, reason.
In all honesty, this truly feels like foreshadowing to me. Amphoreus has a recurring theme so far of including some sort of identity theme into its storyline. Whether it be characters having multiple identities/forms, or past selves coming into play. Even with the new golden scapegoat mechanic in Amphoreus, the one where you play as a golden goat outrunning your corrupted past self? There's a reason why basically everybody thinks that flame reaveris Phainon.
"Stop yapping and get to the point". Evidence to support why I think Phainon was made from/ is Kephale.
Phainons eyes having a symbol very similar to the one of Kephales coreflame is strangely suspicious to me. None of the other Chrysos Heirs have anything similar of that notion, such a blatant visual symbol tying them to their respective titan. "Eyes are the windows to the soul", right.

He is NOT human. The other Chrysos Heirs all have the flaws that make them human, or at least physically ties them down to their humanity (The demigods like Aglaea, Tribbie and Cipher). So why is Phainon considered a perfect vessel? Perfection is an inhuman trait, one that makes me think he isn't human and never was. And what if he's considered the "perfect vessel" because he was quite literally formed from a divine being?

"Chrysos Heirs believe Kephale is the symbol of deliverers and heroes. They are the father of all heroes and the form that all deliverers will eventually take." Deliverers? Where have I heard that before.... Oh right, Phainons title is literally "The Deliverer." The father of all heroes is an interesting statement too. "Stand with me and become heroes" is what he says at the very end of one of the teasers. Aglaea also mentions how he bears the weight of saving Amphoreus' destiny on his shoulders, because that's what fate has precedented for him. He believes he has to be everybody's hero, even if he subconsciously doesn't want to be.

Kephale goes by a multitude of titles, just like all of the other titans. And most of them connect right to Phainon.
"Worldbearer" -> He bears the weight of Amphoreus, aka the world on his shoulders.
"Sky Father". Phainon is named after a figure in greek mythology called "Phaenon". As it turns out, they were the sky god of Cronus.
The other two titles are "God of creation and omniscience", but I don't have much to say for those two. Though, the last title could be referring to how he might know the truth. I doubt current Phainon does. But I have 0 issues seeing his past self, flame weaver not relating to that title.

As it turns out, Kephale was the one given the task of creating life on Amphoreus'. The first humans were created in Kephales own image. The titan adored humans so much that their figure always remained in the mortal world just to accompany them, as they bore the world on their shoulders just for said humans. With how much Phainon clearly loves Amphoreus and it's people, come on you can't say these two aren't alike

Going back to the figure who Phainon is named after, Phaenon. Originally, when Prometheus (a titan) created humans, he made Phaenon the one exceeding past all others in beauty. THATS not the important part however. Asides from the similarities of a titan creating humans and "Phaenon/ Phainon", this titan in particular was one that was extremely fond of humanity. In mythology, the titan stole from and defied the gods in order to improve the lives of humans. He cared about them so much in fact that his punishment was to have his liver (where ancient Greeks believed human emotions to be) eaten, and then eaten again after it regrew over and over.

That scene in the first Amphoreus' trailer where he splashes golden liquid onto his chest may have been fan service (I enjoyed it) and an attention grab, but its also pretty funny when you consider that Kephales form in Okhema has the same golden liquid adorned over them

In the book "As I've Written", Phainon is said to be a soldier with divinity coursing through his veins. Not a chrysos heir with divinity in his blood, a soldier, of when he'd first arrived to Okhema. Why did he have divine blood if he wasnt even a Chrysos Heir, let a lone a demigod like Aglaea or Tribbie? Unless of course, he's a divine fragment of Kephale that is.
"He was eager to bring light to the hero's path". This sentence honestly ties in to how it was said Kephale abandoned their throne ruling over worlds just so they could become a ray of light for the people of Okhema.
"eager to bring light to the hero's path."

Also this conversation you can find in the description of Nameless Faces?

TLDR: Phainon isn't human and was possibly made FROM or is Kephale themselves. Phainon = Phaenon and Kephale = Prometheus.
Also Amphoreus' might be a fucking simulation so there's that

Hi! I’m about to start uni in October (law)
Can you give me a list of to-dos to mentally and physically prepare for this new journey? Like, things to bring, items to buy, notebooks etc 🥹💘
Operation Straight-A Student: A Comprehensive Guide to Prepping for a Successful Uni Experience 🎀📚💗✏️

ty for the ask! i'm not a law student, so this is gonna be more general uni advice that i hope can apply for you. best of luck in your journey, you're gonna do amazing things!!
step no. 1: plan, plan, plan!
for me, being organized & prepping ahead of time has been so helpful. even if things get a bit hectic or tough, having a routine to fall back on is key. here's how i do it!
google calendar
as soon as i have my class schedule, i input all my class meeting times on google calendar. then, based on whatever free space is left over, i allocate time for schoolwork and studying. here's the schedule i designed for this upcoming term:
make sure your study/ classwork time accounts for whatever online courses you're taking too. you should also include blocks for work, club meetings, etc. if they're recurring. i have google calendar linked to my phone so i get notifs for each time block.
planner
i recommend having a good planner. whether this is online or physical, depending on your preference, a weekly planner of your own is helpful for staying on top of work & having peace of mind.
the planner i use is the moleskine weekly planner. here is what it looks like inside:

on the left side i write all the tasks i have on each weekday (similar to the google calendar). on the right side, i list all the tasks i have to complete during that given week - i open the syllabi for all my classes and input whatever hw, assignments, projects, etc. are upcoming. i write them down in a checklist along with the date they're due. then, during my study blocks, i can check this page & decide what to work on!
note-taking & classwork
you should also have supplies for note-taking. some ppl prefer to take digital notes, so this means using your laptop or a tablet & stylus. personally, i like to take handwritten notes, so i bring loose-leaf lined paper & pencils to my lectures. i write the class name & date as the header for each page. when i'm done taking notes, i write the key topics in the top left-hand corner of the pager (in "no-man's land") so i can easily find the notes on specific topics when i'm flipping through them.
in terms of classwork, i recommend having a folder for each of your classes where you can store notes, assignments, tests, etc. i know some people use one big binder for all classes, but if you have a separate folder for each, you don't have to carry them all around on days when you only have two or three classes. i like the brand five star bc the folders are very durable and i've had the same ones all throughout uni!
for me, i've never been a huge notebook person b/c i like to keep my subjects separate so i rarely fill up an entire notebook. you can buy one to start with, and see once school starts if you think you need more!
other supplies
in terms of supplies, i'm honestly pretty minimalistic. the necessities for me are my planner, a folder & loose-leaf paper, and a pencil pouch with plenty of pens & pencils. i also bring my laptop & charger with me to school bc i use that for my online classes.
i do enjoy having cute supplies! i have a cute pink pencil pouch, glittery mechanical pencils, and fun pens. i also put stickers all over my laptop to give it a personal touch. i did a bit of embroidery on my backpack as well. you don't need to spend tons of money on aesthetic supplies, especially if it's something you won't have for long. but, finding simple ways to add a personal touch to your items can be fun & motivating!
step no. 2: make an action plan
i feel like it's easy to tell yourself you wanna do certain things or be a certain person during school. for example, i always want to be super studious, outgoing, & involved, but i used to struggle sm to actually do that. instead of only thinking of how you want to be, create actual steps/ tasks for yourself. here are my action items for inspo:
sit in the front row of every class - this can be daunting, but in my uni experience, wherever you sit in the first week becomes your (un)official assigned seat. get to class early, take a deep breath, and sit yourself down at the front! you'll be forcing yourself to stay at the front, but i promise it's fine! i really prefer this b/c if you & the prof get to class early you can chat a bit. also, when i wanna participate, i can speak at my regular volume & they'll hear me (rather than if i'm in the back row and had to scream). if nothing else, you'll become a familiar face!
attend office hours for each class at least once - i sometimes felt nervous/ anxious to go to office hours and talk to the professors & ta. but when you do it once, you realize they truly just want to help! getting to know the ppl who grade your assignments can be super useful. they might give you advice or info you don't get in lectures. plus, they are super knowledgeable!
raise your hand once per week - this forces you to be engaged with the content. i used to have such horrible social anxiety & the thought of speaking up in class & getting an answer wrong was my worst nightmare. and when i set this rule & began forcing myself to participate, i did make mistakes. but guess what... everyone moves on immediately. you might feel like the world is ending. it haunted me for weeks after 😢 but no one else cares! in the end, ppl will only remember that you were confident enough to raise your hand & speak up, not what you said. pls don't let your education suffer just b/c you're afraid some classmates might judge you! if raising your hand to answer problems is too daunting, start with asking clarifying questions & slowly build up to whatever you're able to do.
start a conversation with a classmate - having classmates that you're friendly with is so important. if you miss a lecture, need help on a concept, etc. you'll have someone you can turn to. and that's the least of it - you can end up making long-lasting friends! yes, it's scary to talk to a stranger. so, force yourself to do it as early as possible in the semester. an easy one - if you see someone sitting by an empty seat, ask if that seat is taken. if not, yay! it's go time 😊 sit by them and find something else to talk about - give them a (genuine & non-creepy) compliment, ask them if they've seen the syllabus, ask if they know the prof, etc. just something to get the convo started!! figure out their name, major, and other stuff too. once you've talked with them long enough to feel like you're getting along (whether that's after one class or multiple) ask for their number/ discord/ whatever so you can keep in touch! if they share your major, you should keep in contact with them b/c you might have other classes together in the future. but, again, in the best-case scenario, you have a new friend!
wear a cute outfit once per week - sometimes i would get a bit embarrassed or self-conscious to dress up for class. i forced myself to do it once per week, starting the first week of class, to set a precedent for myself. slowly i eased my way into wearing cute, fun outfits every day! no one is judging you as much as you are judging yourself, so have fun & be true to you.
step no. 3: study smarter, not harder
attending class is one thing, but you've got to put in the effort to study if you truly want to succeed. but, not all study methods will work for every single person. figure out how to study so you don't waste time with methods that don't work for you.
determine your learning style(s)
there are a few widely accepted learning styles. you've probably tried all of them throughout your time at school, so think back on which learning experiences have been most and least successful for you. then, connect them back to these learning styles to figure out ways you can most effectively study.
visual: if you learn by seeing info visually, such as with maps, graphs, diagrams, charts, etc.
auditory: if you learn by getting info in auditory form, aka when it's heard or spoken
kinesthetic: aka hands-on, if you learn by doing & applying
reading/writing: if you learn info best when it’s in words, aka by writing it down or reading it
you might find that multiple of these learning styles are effective for you, maybe there's one that sticks out as the most similar to your style of learning, or maybe one that just doesn't work for you. now, you don't need to assign yourself one and forego the rest, but you can adjust the time you spend on various study methods based on how well they work for you.
for me, i've realized over time that i am NOT a reading learner. in high school i would diligently read all the textbook assignments, spending hours getting through the chapters, only to retain none of it & do poorly on assignments & tests.
on the other hand, i respond really well to kinesthetic learning - when applying concepts hands-on, such as with practice problems, i have a much better understanding of concepts & retention.
fast forward to college - i spend very little time on assigned readings. in fact, sometimes i skip them all together 🫢 b/c if i spend an hour reading the textbook but retain none of it, that's an hour wasted. especially if the content from the textbook is going to line up with the lecture, i'm much better off paying attention & taking good notes in class, and then spending my study time doing practice problems. if i really do need to read the textbook, i have to make it interactive for myself - i answer the questions at the end of the chapter, take notes, quiz myself, etc.
now, my advice here isn't to skip textbook readings!! that's not something i recommend b/c for so many people, it IS effective and helpful! when it comes to studying, play on your strengths. don't try to force yourself to learn in a way that doesn't work for your brain. make modifications & prioritize your learning! here is an awesome guide to different methods that work for the various learning styles.
find your ideal study environment
you can also maximize the effectiveness of your studying based on the environment you're in. if you can decide what factors help or hinder your studying abilities, it will help you decide where you should make your go-to study spot!
at home or in public? sometimes, studying in a public place can be unproductive. it might make you feel more stressed (like the sensation of having your teacher look over your shoulder during a test 🫣) or distracted. for me, studying in public is actually useful b/c i'm less likely to get disctracted. if i'm in my room i might get tempted to open up tumblr or pinterest, but in public i feel like ppl might see me get off topic which deters me LOL. however, studying at home is nice b/c you're in the comfort of your own personal space - you can change into pjs, cuddle your pet, grab a snack, etc. i do a mix of studying in public & at home b/c i feel like they both have their benefits
quiet or noisy? do you study better in a silent environment, or do you like some sound/ white noise? personally, i cannot deal with ANY noise when i'm trying to study, it totally breaks my focus 😭but some people like the ambient/ white noise of a coffee shop
music or silence? similar to the last one, does having music help you stay focused, or distract you? i know ppl will swear by different things - classical music, upbeat music, songs in different languages, etc. again, i personally cannot handle any sounds 😅 but if music keeps you alert, plan accordingly - have earbuds or go to a coffee shop that has a playlist going
nature or indoors? maybe you find it stuffy to be indoors all day & studying out in the open air helps you stay grounded and calm. on the flipside, being exposed to the elements might just make you more distracted. if you like studying outdoors, try public parks with benches, and also see if your campus has outdoor seating areas. some libraries do too. for a happy medium, you can study someplace with large windows/ nice view.
independent or collaborative? do you study better on your own or in groups? you can join a study group or go to office hours to get a sense of studying in a group setting vs. alone. group studying can help hold you accountable, make it more interactive, and keep you focused. that being said, i def prefer studying independently. i like to go at my own pace, and tbh i get easily distracted w/ others and will begin to just chit chat
based on how you answer those questions, you can decide what your ideal study environment is & pick a go-to place! for me, based on my preferences, my most effective study environment going to the library alone or studying in my room.
that's all for this post! i feel it got very long but i had so many tips to share. there's no "one size fits all" guide to navigating uni life. but i think everyone can benefit from prepping in advance & being mentally prepared. knowing your own strengths + having a plan of attack will guide you in stressful/ uncertain times!
overall, take the time to get to know yourself & figure out how you can be at your very best. apply whichever bits of advice resonate, and ignore anything that's not gonna serve you. this is YOUR journey!
and remember, even with all the planning in the world, things can go unexpectedly. you are more than equipped to deal with whatever life throws your way! when you are faced with unexpected things - pause & think, assess the situation, & determine your best course of action. above all, YOU'VE GOT THIS! 💗

Hi Sam! Recently diagnosed midlife ADHDer here. First, thanks for talking about your ADHD & sharing what you’re figuring out. It’s super helpful to someone on a similar trajectory.
I just saw a reference to your photo books for the first time & it seems like a great way to help with memory issues that come with ADHD (like I know I did [x thing] but when?). Could you talk a little about the process of collecting photos & such all year & then how you create one?
Thank you!
Ey, happy to have helped! Congrats and sympathies on your diagnosis. And honestly it's good for me too, talking all this out, it helps me get my thoughts in order. I often namedrop you guys to Therapist, you are "my readers" :D
The process of putting the photobooks together is...well, it's a lot, so this is going to be a super high-level overview, but basically yeah I wanted to have records of where I'd been and what I'd been doing that were more concrete than just digital photos on a hard drive or a cloud. But I didn't really want to just print the digital photos and put them in a box, either, so I started making photobooks. Usually I go through Walgreens or Shutterfly for printing, whichever has the good coupons when I'm working on it.
So, here's the weird, kind of obsessive part: a huge help in making a yearly photobook, for me, is the fact that I take my photos off my phone at the end of every month. I have some that live on the phone -- my growing collection of photos of my niece, a selection of photos from my Europe trip, some memes -- but those live in their own folders. The main camera roll gets downloaded every month, and I put them all in a file labeled with the month and year (2023-01, 2023-02, etc). It's a recurring task in my to-do list, that I offload the photos on the last Saturday of each month. You don't necessarily have to do it this way, though -- it's just what works best for me, and I encourage people to find a way to do things that will actually be functional for them.
Across the course of the year, although really moreso in October and November, I go through the photos and remove any I absolutely know I don't want to keep. Once I've done that, I save a copy of the whole year's worth of photos to my digital archive, and I take another copy and label it "FOR PHOTOBOOK" which allows me to do more culling of them than I otherwise would, because I know anything I delete is still in my archive. And this all has the advantage of me knowing that the photos in my archive are at least SOMEWHAT organized.
So I go through all the year's photos in the For Photobook file, month by month, sort them into folders by event (so there's, like, 01-Polar Vortex, or 04-Europe, or 09-Birthday) and clear out all but the photos I know I want most. My photobooks are generally longer than the default length they give you at most sites, so I usually do have to add a few pages (they're like $1/page or something) but not too many. Often these days I have some stuff that's events, like the Europe trip, and then some stuff that's just like....a folder of funny shit I saw in Chicago, or a folder of all the food I photographed that I want to save. The cats generally get their own four-page spread at the back. :D
In 2020, I will say, there were only two themes: CATS and COVID. I alternated pages.
Anyway, once I've got the photos sorted, and deleted any I don't want to include, I get on Shutterfly or Walgreens Photo and start up a new photobook project. I upload the first folder of photos, place them on the page with suitable captions, then upload the second folder of photos, etc etc, until all the photos are uploaded and placed in the book. I don't caption extensively -- often it'll just be a page that'll say like "TEXAS IN JULY!" and all the photos from that trip. But it definitely does help me keep track of what I was up to. And it's kind of soothing to review the year and see all the stuff I accomplished.
So that's the bare bones -- by all means feel free to ask questions, although if you guys wouldn't mind asking in comments or reblogs if possible, that should keep the discussion contained as necessary. :)

i must finished s1... i have So Many Thoughts
- why in the ever living FUCK did they decide that danny getting together with rachel AGAIN was a good idea huh...? despite that relationship with stan crumbling apart she was still MARRIED mind you!! why did we decide that danny engaging in infidelity was a good idea 😭 (i have a bad feeling about her. HORRIBLE!)
- wo fat... hes like a persistent cockroach that just wont die despite how well you exterminate the place
- kamekona has got to be my favorite recurring character. shaved ice vendor by day, informant, gambler, weapons hoarder, babysitter, etc. at night. also all around A Very Good Bro. hope he sticks around for the rest of the series.
- is it weird that i like sang min's character? LOL hes like a pesky little shit and i love him for it. also helped 5-0 catch the hpd mole! brownie points for u sir!
- steve is such a menace to society honestly. how is he not charged with multiple counts of property damage and endangering of civilians. that grenade in the pawn shop? really? i will personally start a gofundme for your therapy bill mr. super seal
- you would think that danny would be able to control steve's worst impulses but hes just as erratic and impulsive lmao its quiet broody chaotic good meets loud mouthed argumentative chaotic good. they are cut from the same cloth.
- CHIN HO KELLY YOU SELF SACRIFICIAL BASTARD i swear if i wasnt so in love with your voice i wouldve throttled you across the room. handing over the deed of your house to a bookie? really?! 💀
- anyway i also love how he always has a shotgun instead of the standard handgun that they all have. (but when he shot that guy aiming for his cousin?! sir u were directly behind him im pretty sure u just blew a fist sized hole through that mans body 😭)
- kono kalakaua my beloved my surfer girl the most competent rookie in the history of rookies she went from being fresh out of the academy to being part of hawaii's elite task force. DESERVED. but i do wanna see more stuff about her that isnt surfing. the amount of time she spent in this season in a bikini is ABSURD.
- the dressing down steve gave ms cia agent whats her name?? HOT. that was unfair, i never stood a chance.
anyway i probably have more thoughts but theyre lost somewhere in the gray matter highway and i cant cough up more for this word vomit. might add to this post or make a new one when they arrive to me 🤷♀️

So, basically the newest element of my job has taken over my job because, surprise, surprise, it was previously 1.5-2 people's entire jobs. It's not necessarily bad to have a focus, but going into a busy season where I really needed some time to do other things (aka the other 75% of my job), it's just a tough balance.
Add in that a certain cat has decided to wake me up with the sun, that my support system has greatly fluctuated over the last few months, and that I'm *still* messing with meds from a year ago, it's just a fun time.
But anyway, I wanted to share that I found some new resources & ideas/stuff that's been helping!
My Possible Self app - this is a British mental health app that has some great tracking & processing tools and is primarily CBT based, but also has lifestyle stuff, AND, it does the trend identifying for you! It will tell you, hey, you feel like trash mostly when you are with your supervisors at work (for example).
The whole fork theory thing I saw on tumblr once. Basically, you remove the small problems that are easy to get to first, so then you have the mental bandwidth to tackle it. I have no idea who OP is, but it was a tumblr post, so just know this is... not original. My psychiatrist loved it though.
Morning meditations - I use Smiling Minds app, which is freeeeeeee and Australian, so bonus there. This is a work in progress, but some deep breathing is helpful in the morning.
Walking meetings - if you have the opportunity & ability, having a meeting where you are moving has been super helpful for me in brainstorming & talking through things. Or! It doesn't have to be a work thing, just go for a stroll with a coworker to bond.
Weeknight craft time - doesn't have to be elaborate, just a few stitches on my latest felt buddy, a row or two of my knitting, or half a sketch. This has truly revolutionized my weeknights & stress management. Plus, depending on the craft, prep over the weekend so it's grab & go.
Decreasing executive function demands - As many of us struggle with managing executive function, my top tip is to find a to-do app (I just use Microsoft's) and make a whole bunch of recurring tasks (vacuum once a week, wash your water bottle regularly, etc) to take any requirement to remember to do a chore out of your head and on to a list. I'm gonna be honest, it was a curve to remember to check the list, buuuuuuuut, building that habit is so worth it. This is also a big stressor for me, so it helps to "automate" it.

4️⃣ Benefits of Setting Academic and Personal Goals 📋

Your life contains infinite possibilities and, therefore, infinite choices. Fortunately, infinity tends to become way more manageable when you intentionally sift through it, looking for what excites you and for what can enhance your quality of life. Then, if you write down your favorite ideas, you’ll have something finite to work with. You’ll be able to literally witness the beginnings of motion and direction taking form where there was once only a nebulous cloud of uncertainty.
Once your goals emerge, you will be on your way to living your best life. Let’s look at some key benefits you’re likely to experience by setting goals:
1. YOU GET TO DISCOVER NEW OPTIONS—AND YOURSELF 🪞
Without deliberately writing down your desires, you’re more likely to overlook much of what life has to offer you. Exploring, whether through talking to others or doing some online research, can reveal possibilities you have forgotten about or never knew existed. Feel free to be creative and have fun as you brainstorm. Devise categories, graphics, priorities, etc. The following questions will hopefully help jumpstart your thinking:
What do you like to do physically?
What hobbies are you interested in?
Do you want to develop a skill?
What projects you want to accomplish?
In what way would you most enjoy helping others?
Do you want to save a certain amount of money for something?
What are your academic goals, short and long term?
As you identify more and more of what brings you joy and excitement, be open to ideas you wouldn’t think you’d be interested in. Cast everyone else’s opinions out of your head and give yourself permission to write down whatever you want.
2. YOU DEVELOP MORE FOCUS 🧘🏻♂️
After writing down everything that seems appealing to you, look for patterns. What themes do you see? What types of personality traits or skills seem to recur? Focus on these ideas as they are most likely to represent the authentic you. Pick a manageable number of goals, maybe three short term and three long term, to develop first. Then write down one action step you can take today to move a little closer toward a goal. Even the smallest step will establish direction and momentum.
3. YOU GAIN NEW MOTIVATION TO MOVE FORWARD 🏃🏻
With goals, you are no longer just going through the motions of attending class, studying, and doing whatever else you think is expected of you. Rather, you have a self-generated source of motivation. To tap into it, try writing down why you want to accomplish certain things. Is it to feel a sense of purpose? To feel joy? To make money? To make family, or yourself, proud? Knowing the reasons behind your desires adds a new dimension of power that you can circle back to when you feel yourself slowing or veering off track.
4. YOU CAN MORE EASILY KEEP TRACK OF PROGRESS 📝
Goals can also serve as progress markers, kind of like checkpoints along the route of a race. Without knowing where you are going, you have no way of knowing how far you’ve come. And without knowing how far you’ve come, you have a greater chance of losing focus and drive. Plus, little goals can help turn a big, daunting task into a few no-big-deals, keeping you laser-focused and feeling good.
Try to remember, as you set and meet and reset goals, to keep patting yourself on the back. Everyone takes little detours now and then, but know that you are making your life, and really the world, a better place with every step you take toward reaching your goals.

Patience isn’t the only new spirit headed to Ghosts.
As announced during San Diego Comic-Con this past Saturday, Mary Holland (The Big Door Prize, Veep) will recur during Season 4 as the Puritan ghost who dragged Isaac into the dirt in the Season 3 finale. But co-showrunners Joe Wiseman and Joe Port revealed to TVLine that there will also be some other fresh (and furry?) otherworldly additions.
Now that Pete has the ability to leave the Woodstone premises, “he’s going to be out and about, and he’s going to be coming into contact with a lot of ghosts, one of whom he is going to bring back to the mansion,” Port tells TVLine’s Keisha Hatchett in the above Comic-Con interview.
Plus, in a fun twist, “we’re going to meet an animal ghost for the first time,” Wiseman shares, while Port adds that this “very small animal” is “going to become sort of a ghost pet.”
The hit CBS comedy will also once again air its annual Halloween episode (which will have the tough task of topping last season’s “Halloween 3: The Guest Who Wouldn’t Leave”), as well as an hourlong Christmas special.
“Halloween episodes are very special to us because it’s a show about ghosts, so we feel like we always have to go big on Halloween, and this year, we are not going to disappoint,” Wiseman promises. “Halloween is going to be influenced by a new addition to the house, Patience.”
Meanwhile, the Christmas spirit will finally bring Jay’s parents to Woodstone, “which we’re very excited about. That’s long overdue,” Wiseman notes.
Elsewhere in the interview, the showrunners hint at some new mythology reveals that will test how the ghost rules work, and tackle the question of whether we’ll get answers next season about Hetty’s power and Sas’ death. (One is more likely than the other.)

Truly one of the more frustrating recurring experiences of trying to navigate life as a grown-ass person with ADHD is that like… it’s so goddamn hard to keep my brain (which is, y’know, diagnosably deficient in Reward Self for Accomplishing Task juice) motivated to put forward the effort to take care of chores and errands and shit, because I have so many unpleasant memories of failing at that sort of thing and I feel so little sense of reward (or even relief) when I do get things done that it’s this huge effort to not just… ignore tasks until they develop into a Bullshit Avalanche that I can no longer ignore? And when I do force myself to Do Something, running into obstacles can make me feel so frustrated and embarrassed that it’s almost as if I’m being punished for trying to accomplish the task and it would have been better not to try in the first place
Like today I noticed that I’d worked about an extra hour over the last few days, and instead of doing overtime I was like “ok, it’s payday and the ‘get your oil changed, bitch’ light has been on for a while, let’s clock out at the 40 hour mark and go do that before it’s time to pick my wife up from work so I don’t have to try to make that happen this weekend”
Which meant not just the actual task of taking the car to the oil change place, but also sheepishly explaining to the folks there that a) I did not have the financial means to be upsold on anything that was not likely to be a life or death issue before tax refunds come in so please don’t bother unless you are literally afraid for my life if I don’t get the additional service, and b) I actually already know about the headlight that’s out and the old-ass air filter but please don’t replace them, I have the replacements in the car and just keep forgetting to install them myself and only remembering about it when I don’t have time or the engine is too hot for me to go feeling around for where the fucking headlight bulb goes
And to add insult to that injury, they finish up and I’m like, oh. Right.
I lost my debit card like 2-3 weeks ago (yay, absolute garbage perception of time) and KNOW it’s on the floor of the car or maybe in my apartment somewhere so I haven’t reported it lost to get a replacement I just need to find it but the car’s a huge mess and I keep always being too tired or busy when I think about it. And also it’s hard to not be underemployed when I don’t have the spoons to look for a better paying job on top of holding down the job I have, and my wife has similar issues, and the cost of living these days, guys, am I right?? And we’ve got a little windfall coming soon that will help us pay off our debts, but crucially. That is still ‘soon’ and hasn’t happened yet. Anyway so the credit card is apparently maxed out from us having to use it to get around not being paid a living wage the last couple of years :))))))) And the “emergency use only because the bill goes to my parents’ house and I don’t want to abuse the privilege of having parents who can afford to and are willing to help financially when I really need it or to keep being a burden on them, and also they WILL judge me if anything unnecessary is on there” card in my wallet is expired and the new one is somewhere in the kitchen (or living room?) mess at home so I can’t use that right now either
So I had to explain in front of the other customers that I just straight up forgot that the only functioning card in my wallet was maxed out and like, stand there while she looked at records to confirm I was a regular client who’d never pulled shit like this before and also put a note on my file so they could like, know about it and refuse service in the future if I didn’t make good on my promise to come back and pay once I pick my wife (and their debit card) up from work in an hour and a half
And the embarrassment of all of that so thoroughly outweighs whatever minuscule satisfaction my brain can derive from “but I got the task done!” that it feels like I didn’t accomplish anything and also like I put myself through a shitty awkward experience for (what feels like) nothing. And it’s that, but with like…. every fucking thing that I have to deal with when I get home from work and I’m tired and my meds have worn off. So I just have to keep powering my way through a wall of experiences telling me “you will have all of the suffering and experience none of the reward, OR you could not bother and do something that does make you feel nice instead because wow fuck that” for EVERY GODDAMN LITTLE THING.
Anyway I love my brain for so many things, but goddamn it would be great if the “positive reinforcement machine broken” issue impaired me as little as ableists seem to think it should

Tips & Tricks Tuesday: Prepare your email in a task to make it easier to complete

Email can often demand a lot of time. This week's tip, shared by fabianhemmert, shows a quick way to get started with routine or planned emails. Anything to make it easier, right? 😅
I often have recurring emails to send: remind my students to do X every semester, ask my landlord for report Y, and the likes. I use RTM's URL field in recurring tasks for that. Clicking "mailto:" links in the URL field, my computer will open a ready-to-send (or tweak) email with a preset recipient, subject and content. Just what I need! You will find plenty of tools on the web to turn recipient, subject and body into a mailto:-link. For example, a very good "Mailto Link Generator" is mailtolink.me
Thanks for sharing this tip, fabianhemmert! You’re our Tips & Tricks Tuesday winner this week.
Do you have a suggestion for our weekly Tips & Tricks post? Got an interesting set-up or idea? Head over to the Tips & Tricks forum, add a new topic, and let us know how you use Remember The Milk. Each week we’ll give away a 1 year Pro account to the user whose idea inspires the Tips & Tricks Tuesday blog post for that week.

Rust Compiler Performance Triage
A lot of noise in the results this week; there was an lull in the noise recently, so our auto-inferred noise threshold went down, and thus five PR's were artificially flagged this week (and three supposed improvements were just reverting to the mean). Beyond that, we had three nice improvements: the first to debug builds in #117962 (by ceasing emission of expensive+unused .debug_pubnames and .debug_pubtypes), a second to diesel and serde in #119048 (by avoiding some unnecessary work), and a third to several benchmarks in #117749 (by adding some caching of an internal compiler structure).
Triage done by @pnkfelix. Revision range: 57010939..bf9229a2
6 Regressions, 9 Improvements, 3 Mixed; 5 of them in rollups 67 artifact comparisons made in total

Call for Testing
An important step for RFC implementation is for people to experiment with the implementation and give feedback, especially before stabilization. The following RFCs would benefit from user testing before moving forward:
No RFCs issued a call for testing this week.

Quote of the Week
The Tianyi-33 satellite is a 50kg class space science experimental satellite equipped with an operating system independently developed by Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications—the Rust-based dual-kernel real-time operating system RROS. RROS will carry out general tasks represented by tensorflow/k8s and real-time tasks represented by real-time file systems and real-time network transmission on the satellite. It will ensure the normal execution of upper-layer applications and scientific research tasks, such as time-delay measurement between satellite and ground, live video broadcasting, onboard web chat services, pseudo-SSH experiments, etc. This marks the world’s first official application of a Rust-written dual-kernel operating system in a satellite scenario.

Why & How to Start Digital Planning?
In today's fast-paced world, staying organized is a key aspect of managing our personal and professional lives. Traditional planners and journals have served this purpose for ages, but as technology continues to advance, digital planning has emerged as an efficient and innovative way to keep track of tasks, goals, and schedules.
With tools like GoodNotes digital planner and the growing popularity of iPad digital planner apps, embracing digital planning in 2024 can bring a new level of organization and productivity to your life.

Why Choose Digital Planning?
Accessibility and Convenience
A digital planner can be accessed anytime, anywhere, as long as you have your device with you. Whether you're at home, at work, or on the go, your planner is just a few taps away.
Environmental Friendliness
Going digital means saving paper, which in turn helps in reducing your carbon footprint. By using a digital planner, you're contributing to a more sustainable lifestyle.
Versatility
Digital planners offer more than just calendar and to-do list features. They can incorporate multimedia elements, such as images, audio recordings, and hyperlinks, making your planning experience more dynamic and engaging.
Effortless Organization

In 2025, Custom Task Management Apps Are the New Standard for High-Performing Teams
Teams need more than shared to-do lists
In today’s fast-moving work culture, task management has gone far beyond assigning checkboxes. With hybrid teams, global operations, and real-time collaboration, modern companies need tools that reflect the way they actually work. Unfortunately, many teams still rely on rigid, generic platforms that slow down rather than streamline productivity.
The real shift in 2025 is toward smarter, custom-built solutions that fit team structures, evolve with the business, and simplify the way work flows.
Why companies build custom task management app platforms
Rather than adjusting their work to fit cookie-cutter tools, more companies are now choosing to build custom task management app platforms. These apps are tailored to internal processes—whether you’re managing product sprints, creative workflows, or field operations.
With user-specific dashboards, built-in automation, approval paths, and integrated communication, these systems are built for speed, clarity, and adaptability. The result is stronger alignment across teams and a more focused, confident workforce.
Personalization at the core of efficiency
Each team has its own rhythm, reporting needs, and project styles. A customized system means you can include only the features that matter most, from visual task boards to recurring check-ins and department-specific workflows.
Customization not only makes the platform easier to use, but it also reduces the training time and improves engagement across all levels of your company.
Unlock scalability with on demand task management app development
As businesses grow and evolve, their tools must too. That’s why many are turning to on-demand app development to create agile, upgrade-ready solutions. These apps allow companies to add new features, modules, or integrations without disrupting operations or starting from scratch.
Whether you’re a startup planning to scale or an enterprise needing to unify multiple departments under one system, on-demand development gives you the freedom to adapt your workflow at any time.
Simplify complex workflows with smart features
Custom task apps do more than track to-dos—they streamline entire processes. With role-based access, automatic deadline reminders, and advanced tracking tools, teams can move faster without missing a beat.
Built-in analytics help managers monitor project health and identify bottlenecks early. Plus, real-time notifications ensure everyone stays on track without needing frequent check-ins or meetings.
Keep productivity high with mobile app development
In 2025, teams expect mobility. That’s why many organizations extend their custom platforms with custom app development to keep productivity strong on the go. With mobile access, your team can update tasks, receive alerts, and communicate—even while traveling or working remotely.
Features like offline syncing, push notifications, and mobile dashboards ensure that productivity isn’t tied to a desk. Whether on a job site or in a café, your team stays connected and in control.
Final thoughts
A custom task management app gives your team more than just structure—it gives them ownership, speed, and freedom to perform at their best. In 2025, relying on outdated or bloated software is a competitive disadvantage.
If your current systems aren’t flexible enough or fail to reflect how your team actually works, it’s time to build something better. With the right custom solution, you can finally create the task system your team has been waiting for—and drive meaningful results.

Tailored Technology: Unlocking Business Growth with Custom Software
In a world increasingly shaped by digital interactions, businesses must do more than just keep up—they must innovate. Off-the-shelf software may seem convenient, but it often falls short when it comes to solving unique operational challenges or creating competitive differentiation. That’s where custom software enters the picture, offering personalized, efficient, and scalable solutions that reflect the exact needs of a business.
Custom software development is not about reinventing the wheel—it's about refining it to suit your terrain. Every business has its distinct process, culture, and goals. Using generic platforms can limit flexibility and force organizations to conform to software limitations. On the other hand, custom solutions enable businesses to mold technology around their workflows, not the other way around.
Why One Size Doesn't Fit All
Many businesses start with general-purpose software to save costs or reduce development time. But as operations grow and become more complex, the cracks begin to show. Processes become bloated with workarounds, data silos emerge, and teams spend more time adjusting to the software than benefiting from it.
Custom software eliminates these roadblocks. By aligning the digital tools with real-life workflows, organizations gain better accuracy, faster turnarounds, and an intuitive system that employees actually enjoy using. Whether it’s automating back-office tasks, managing inventory with precision, or creating seamless customer journeys, custom-built platforms pave the way for operational excellence.
Efficiency That Scales with You
Another critical advantage of custom software is scalability. Generic software often comes with limitations in features, users, and integrations. This restricts how far you can grow without overhauling your systems again. With custom software, scalability is part of the blueprint. You can add new features, expand infrastructure, or integrate with external platforms—all without disrupting existing operations.
When a system is designed from the ground up with your future in mind, it becomes a long-term asset. It evolves with you, adapts to new markets, and absorbs new technologies as they arise. That kind of flexibility is invaluable in a fast-paced business environment.
Security and Ownership: You Control the Rules
Security is no longer optional—it's a priority. Businesses today face increasing cyber threats and regulatory requirements. Custom software allows for the implementation of advanced, industry-specific security protocols. Unlike mass-market platforms that may carry vulnerabilities or shared hosting environments, a bespoke solution is designed with exclusive controls and privacy mechanisms.
Ownership is another powerful benefit. With custom software, you're not renting access—you own the system. This eliminates the recurring subscription costs and dependency on third-party platforms. You have full control over updates, integrations, and future modifications, offering both independence and savings.
A Better Experience for Teams and Customers
Custom software doesn't only serve internal teams—it can be a game-changer for customer-facing platforms. Whether you're building a mobile app, client portal, or e-commerce solution, personalization is key. With custom development, you can fine-tune every element of the user experience. This leads to smoother interfaces, faster load times, and higher satisfaction rates.
On the internal side, well-designed software reduces training time, minimizes user errors, and boosts overall productivity. When employees are empowered with tools built specifically for their roles, they perform better and feel more connected to their work.
Conclusion: Innovation Built for You
Digital transformation isn't a buzzword—it's a necessity. Businesses that invest in customized technology gain more than just software. They gain control, efficiency, and a foundation built for long-term success. As industries become more competitive and technology continues to evolve, tailored solutions will be the cornerstone of adaptability and growth.
In a market where differentiation and agility are everything, no investment yields more strategic value than Custom Software Development in USA.

Helping Teams Stay on Track: Automate Sprint Start & End in Jira 🚀
Managing sprints manually in Jira is straightforward, but when you're running multiple teams, boards, or projects, that simple click at the start and end of a sprint can become a recurring chore. Fortunately, Jira now supports scheduling and automating sprint lifecycle: both auto‑start and auto‑complete. In this post, we’ll explore why this is a game‑changer and how to implement it effectively—plus share tools to supercharge it, including a link to SprintRunner from Sparxsys.
🧠 Why Automate Sprint Start & End?
Always support Agile cadence Missing a manual sprint start/stop can disrupt team rituals, sprint reviews, and planning. Automation ensures sprints begin and end precisely on schedule, keeping your rhythm consistent.
Free up Scrum Master bandwidth No more manual clicks or missed sprints—sprint management can happen in the background, letting your team focus on true Agile work.
Handle complex setups When using parallel sprints or managing many Scrum boards (e.g. SAFe trains), automation ensures every sprint across teams starts and stops reliably.
🛠️ Native Jira Scheduling (Cloud & Data Center)
Jira’s built‑in auto‑managed sprints lets admins schedule sprint start and finish times:
Turn on the “Parallel sprints” setting
Create or edit a sprint
Set start and end dates
Enable “Start and complete automatically”
Choose where any incomplete issues move: backlog, new sprint, or an existing future sprint reddit.com+13confluence.atlassian.com+13jira.atlassian.com+13marketplace.atlassian.comjira.atlassian.com
What You Gain:
Jira runs these transitions every minute via cron tasks
Incomplete issues transfer automatically to your chosen destination
Sprints are marked “AUTO‑MANAGED” and you get email notifications
Caveats:
All users must have their Jira profile’s timezone aligned—not board admin timezone—to ensure correct timing confluence.atlassian.com
If child tasks of closed parents remain open, Jira won't complete the sprint until they're resolved marketplace.atlassian.com+7confluence.atlassian.com+7community.atlassian.com+7
🧩 Marketplace Apps: Enhanced Automation
While Jira’s native feature is solid, several Marketplace apps take it further—perfect for teams needing timezone precision, custom handling of incomplete issues, or multiple team channels.
